Estes Park, Colorado should be a destination on your radar when looking for the perfect mountain town to elope. If you’re coming from out of state, the town offers tons of activities, amenities and is within driving range from Denver International Airport. Estes Park is surrounded by mountains, and it sits at the entrance to the westside of Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP) as well. If you love exploring National Parks – this spot should be on your list to visit!

From mountain views to lakes and forests, Estes Park has everything you need to create an amazing intimate elopement experience. Whether you want to exchange vows in RMNP, or in a cozy river side cabin, or on an adventurous hike, Estes Park is full of little gems.

Where to Elope in Estes Park

Rocky Mountain National Park

Rocky Mountain National Park is a highly visited National Park with an expansive list of hiking trails and scenic spots. To elope in Rocky Mountain National Park, a special use permit is required. You are able to apply for the permit a year in advance of your elopement date and it allows you and your partner to exchange vows at one of their designated spots within the park. While you can only exchange vows in the designated locations, you can explore the park for portraits! This area is perfect for a small group, or an intimate vow exchange surrounded by your closest friends and family.

Hermit Park

The Hermit Park Open Space area is managed by Larimer County and lies just outside of the main town area of Estes. Sitting on a hill, surrounded by forests, this area has camping options and cabins as well! Hermit Park has a picnic shelter with fire pits and an open grassy meadow making it a great spot for an intimate gathering.

Other Hidden Gems

One of the reasons that I direct couples to Estes is adventure! Being close proximity to the mountains and some major surrounding towns, the town has many outdoor activities like fishing and hiking, as well as the ability to see a variety of wildlife. There are many parks, open spaces, and trails surrounding the Estes Park area. During your elopement, you can incorporate your favorite hobbies into the day, enjoy drinks in the downtown area, or find a tour that allows to explore something new. I am happy to make personalized recommendations that fit what you’re looking for when it comes to finding the perfect vow exchange spot.
