This winter Twin Lakes elopement had the absolute best weather day. Winter this year, has been warmer than usual with less snow meaning this day almost felt like a warm early spring morning which created the perfect elopement day. Tucked between Leadville and Buena Vista, Twin Lakes is one of my favorite spots in Colorado. It offers sweeping mountain views, quiet shoreline ceremony spots, and a peaceful alpine atmosphere that feels intimate.
I’ve captured a few days with the Alpenglow Cabin as a base. This modern cozy cabin makes the perfect stay for a Twin Lakes elopement for just the two of you or a small group. The cabin creates a beautiful setting for getting ready photos, first looks, and slow morning moments together. Instead of rushing between locations, couples can relax, soak in the scenery, and fully experience their wedding day. Also the newly equipped sauna is a huge plus!!
The couple opted to read vows in the living room together next to the fire. Then we went the lakeshore for a scenic overlook for with more adventurous feel. They enjoyed exploring the area, listening to their playlist while taking in the warm.

If you’re dreaming of a mountain wedding that feels personal, relaxed, and immersed in nature, reach out. Capturing elopements for me is about designing an experience that feels true to you, without the stress of having your photo captured throughout. If you resonate that, let’s chat.
