Moab is a great destination for couple’s wanting to take advantage of gorgeous scenery in addition to outdoor activities. There are many Moab wedding venues to consider for your celebration. From venues with multi-day accommodations, to outdoor spaces for an intimate celebration, there are lots of spots to get married in the area.

Getting Married in Moab

Moab’s proximity to Colorado makes it an easy jaunt from airports in Grand Junction or Salt Lake (or the ability to fly direct into Moab). Guests coming from Colorado can take the scenic route exploring either the La Sal Mountains or Highway 128 along the river into town.

Stays and Accommodations

There are many accommodation options from glamping at Under Canvas, hotels in town, or short term vacation rentals. A few person favorites for hotels are the Red Cliff Lodge where you can also horseback ride with your group, or the Hoodoo Moab which puts you in close proximity to the downtown area.

Things to Do

While in Moab take advantage of the many outdoor activities. You can explore the trail by off-roading or visit the National Parks. Canyonlands and Arches are both iconic places to visit. The downtown area also offers shopping and restaurants. There are many guided trek options as well. You can base-jump, climb, or raft.

The Red Earth Venue

The Red Earth is located along 313 and is a short drive from town. The elevated glass building with it’s outdoor steel beamed patio makes for a gorgeous contrast to the red cliff backdrop. With the open concept of the building and the surrounding space, the area can be transformed well to fit your vision. I was in awe of the gorgeous sunsets from the patio space here. It is such a beautiful spot. While there are amazing portrait locations on property, Dead Horse State Park and Canyonlands National Park is nearby too.

Under Canvas Moab

For a glamping experience with a place to party, Under Canvas Moab would be my venue of choice. This property leans into experience driven weddings. I personally love that this can cater to a small group in addition to a large buyout. Guests can have their own private lodging on site which also keeps them near your wedding with ease for destination travelers. The Under Canvas group is part of a larger brand, so if this location is part of your vibe, check out their other spots as well: https://www.undercanvas.com/

ULUM Moab

ULUM is the upscale Michelin recognized sector of Under Canvas. This venue leans into a luxury feel with a unique one of a kind experience. At night, your reception will be lit by the stars with clear views giving guests a scenic view to relax. Your and your guests can be treated to on-site accommodations, dining and wellness activities.

Whispering Oaks Ranch

Further outside of Moab on the scenic La Sal loop, the views change to a more mountainous feel. At Whispering Oaks Ranch, you get to experience another side of Moab. This property is perfect for group events, gatherings, and weddings. The large property gives your guests a feel of privacy and peace while celebrating with you.

Sorrel River Ranch

The views from Sorrel River Ranch are absolutely incredible. It sits in the valley surrounded by red cliffs, with the river running through the property. I love visiting this area at sunset, as the glow down the canyon lights up the area. For weddings that are adventure driven but desiring a luxury experience, this would be it. The property is designed for a weekend getaway with activities, dining, and immersive experiences on-site.

As someone who’s spent years traveling to Moab to explore, hike, camp, and photograph couples – it’s a spot I hold special to my heart. There’s nothing quite like an adventure weekend in Moab and I’d love to share that with you.
